Chapter 9 - Bitter Mistake

 Tonya felt sad, nervous and upset.She was sure Philip would never talk to her again, he was so mad and disappointed! She couldn't blame him, she had acted like a baby, like a spoiled girl.
 She was thinking about all that had happened when someone knocked the door and she opened it. It was Andrew. He must've heard about what happened because he ran to her and hugged her while she cried. He kissed her nose and led her to bed, making her lay down.
 One hour passed, Andrew was laying by Tonya's side. She had her head on his shoulder and had stopped crying.
"Why did you write that letter?"- he asked.
"Can we not talk about that now?Please..."-she said,her voice barely audible.
"Okay, so what do you want to talk about?"
"Nothing, nothing at all."
 Their faces were close.Too close, she thought as she leant forward and her lips found his. It wasn't until she wished Philip was the one she was kissing that she understood kissing Andrew had been a mistake. A bitter mistake.
 Tonya stood up and ran away from the room, she wanted to hide, everything was wrong! She was in an unknown world, Philip was angry at her and now Andrew was probably angry too, her parents were dead, she hated her aunt, she was in a place with demons and vampires,...Nothing was right! She ran until the school was out of sight and sat down on a rock. It was night already,the skyline was beautiful,it was full moon and you could see every star,there was no cloud in the sky!
 Suddenly a ray of light went through her and she was bitten by something,falling unconscious on the ground. Someone grabbed her and took her into a cave,throwing her carelessly on the ground.When she woke up,she felt a deep pain in her neck,unabling her to stand up and run away from the monster. Tonya knew it was a vampire,its eyes were sort of colorful and he had large canine teeth. She released a scream and the vampire turned to her and tried to bite her again when Philip entered the cave with a long golden sword and screamed for the monster to try to bite him instead. Tonya didn't see what happened next because she fainted.
 Next morning she woke up in the cave, she had a ligature around her neck and her legs were numb. Philip was sitting a few feet away taking care of his own wounds and there was no sign of vampires.
"Did you kill it?"-she asked
 Philip nodded,avoiding to look at her.
"Thanks.And I'm sorry,I was mean, I only wanted to prove a point, but I understood my point was wrong. I get it if you don't want to look or talk to me for the rest of my life,which will probably be short, but I just wanted to apologize."-Tonya said, laying her head on the ground and looking away from him.
 Philip stood up,walked towards her,took her in his arms and...

Chapter 8 - The Dance

 Tonya opened the wardrobe and chose a simple white dress with shades of pink.She combed her hair and put on the high heels that were next to her bed.They were beautiful,white ,and, like the towers, they looked like they were made of crystal.It felt like holding a fragile glass that would easily break.
 She left the room wondering if she should've looked for a gun or a sword in case of running into another demon or creature,but the corridor was empty.Tonya released a scream when someone's hand touched hers.She turned around and saw Andrew standing there,wearing a black suit with a white shirt inside.He is beauteous, she thought.Holding both his hands she came closer to him and gently kissed his cheek.
"You look adorable."-Tonya said,dropping his hands.Andrew's light blue eyes were now riveted on hers.
"Thank you madame."-he said ironically.-"You look lovely aswell.I'll escort you to the hall."
 'Madame'?'Escort'? Tonya wasn't even sure she knew those words!He was being so polite he sounded like a prince!But she wasn't complaining,she liked him to be diferent,to be better.
 When they arrived at the hall,everyone was there already.The music playing was quiet,almost like a lullaby.Tonya quickly spotted Philip, he was sitting on a chair looking down at his glass.He seemed to be unwell,almost sad. Jessica was standing just a few feet away,talking to some friends.When Tonya walked into the room everybody's heads turned to look at her.Of course,I'm human,they're not and they've already noticed it, she thought.
"Can I get you something to drink?"-Andrew asked, but her attention was focused on Philip and she didn't hear the question.
"Go talk to him,it wouldn't harm."-he said,noticing she was looking at his brother.
"I'm not sure he wants to talk to me..."
 Andrew took her hand.
"I've told you a thousand times,he is only trying to protect you!Go and ask him,I know you have a lot to talk about."
 Tonya left Andrew and walked towards Philip ,who was still looking down.She wanted to put a hand on his shoulder but decided not to,after all that had happened.
"Are you allright?"-she asked.
 He didn't answer,instead he turned his head to look at her and she noticed he had been beaten by someone.Or something.
"Your face..."
 He got up and walked away from the hall,she followed him into a room and he locked the door,taking a letter of his pocket and handing it to Tonya.
"Is this true Tonya?"-he asked,looking at her furiously.-"Are you really planning to suicide?"
 Tonya grinned.
"Oh yeah, revenge is a dish best served cold.How does it feel Philip?How does it feel when the one person you care the most lets you down?"
"I can't believe it!"-he said,annoyed.-"You and Andrew planned everything,didn't you?Just the kind of thing he would do for a girl..."
"Wait,Philip..."
"When I pretended not to know who you were I was trying to protect you,to make you go away Tonya!There's more to this world than you know,it's really dangerous!"-As he spoke,tears fell from his eyes.-"I did care about you, but now?You deceived me,you and my brother deceived me!"
 His words echoed in her head.'I did care about you,but now?'. Tonya understood that writting that letter and pretending she was going to suicide had been a bad idea,but she also knew Andrew had nothing to do with it,and now Philip thought he did.
"If you want to,go kill yourself trying to fight demons,I don't care anymore!"-he said,and after that he went through the door and shut it behind him,leaving Tonya alone,once again.

Chapter 7 - Saved

 Tonya finished climbing the gate and landed on the other side,the school looked even bigger from her point of view.
"Well,I.."-But before she could finish the sentence,Charles grabbed her and dragged her into a room.
"You'll stay here until I find a portal to send you back,wich will take long since there are none nearby!"-he said,walking through the door and shutting it behind him leaving Tonya locked in the room.
 It was dark,the blinds were closed,and it was also really,really cold.She couldn't see anything so she just sat down on the ground and hoped for nothing to happen.
 Suddenly something touched Tonya's shoulder.She got up and turned around to see what it was.Nothing.It was just my imagination,she thought.She turned again and tripped over something,falling flat on the floor.Standing in front of her was now a creature that looked like a giant black ant.With its 'tweezers', the monster attacked Tonya,who was thrown to the wall.In a snap, the door opened and two persons came out of it,one of them stepped forward and threw a knife at the creature who vanished, while the other one lighted a torch.It was Andrew and Philip!Tonya felt a huge headache,but besides that she was fine.Philip ran towards her ,embracing her around his arms while she was still laying down.Andrew came towards her too,sitting down and taking a pill out of his pocket.
"Eat this Tonya."-Andrew said.
 But Tonya didn't even pay attention,all she could think about was that Philip was holding her.He remembers me,she thought with a smile while she fainted.
 A few hours later she woke up in another room,this one had its blinds open and she could see the sun,the fields and the school through the window.Andrew was sitting by her bed.
"Are you feeling better?"-he asked.
"Much better,thank you.What was that,the thing that attacked me?"
"A demon,one who could've killed you."
"And how did you know I was in trouble?How did you know I was there?"
"Philip and I ran into Charles and he told us you had entered the school,he also told us where you were and we thought that you would be in trouble because that room was..sort of haunted.If it makes you feel better,Philip was the one who wanted to save you right away!"
"What makes you think I care about that?"-Tonya asked,trying to sound bitter but in vain.
"It's...Obvious.The way you look at each other, Philip never looked at any girl that way.He's usually very serious and all but,when you're in the room or when someone mentions you,his face lits up and Jessica hates you because of that."
 Tonya was still mad at Philip,she couldn't forgive him for telling her he didn't know her,for ignoring her and then saving her and holding her in his arms like a hero.She didn't understand,maybe he was trying to protect her,but she couldn't see it.
"Tonight there's going to be a ball,I thought you might want to go.There are some dresses in the wardrobe."-he said,pointing to it.
"Will you be there?"
"Yes.."
"Do you like to dance?"-she asked.
"Why?"
 Tonya grinned.It was time for a little revenge.

Chapter 6 - Smile

 After a while Philip and Jessica left the bus station ignoring Tonya who sat down on the bench and cried her heart out.
"Well,at least that won't happen to me..."-she heard a voice say,next to her.-"Here,take this bit of fabric.You may want to clean your face." Tonya turned to see who was talking,it was a boy with straight black hair, light blue eyes and piercings all over his face.She felt like she had seen him before,like she already knew who he was.
"Do I know you?"-she asked.
"I believe you don't.Sorry, I should've introduced myself first."-he said,looking straight to the clouds.-"I'm Andrew Honory,Philip's younger brother."
 Tonya stared at him with disbelief.Philip's brother? He didn't look like him at all,except for the eyes!And he didn't look younger than Philip.
"You're younger than him?"
"Yes,even though I may look older.I'm 16,he's 17."-he said.
 Tonya couldn't help but wonder where Philip had gone, what school he was in,what did they do in Monster Slayers' schools,...The only thing she wasn't thinking about was how to get out of that place.
"You are awfully quiet.Now you know who I am,it's your turn to intruduce yourself!"-he smiled,but Tonya didn't smile back,Philip's words still echoed in her head, 'Who are you?', he had asked, it was like he had shot her right in her hearth.
"I'm Tonya."-she finally managed to say.-"What did you mean when you said that wouldn't happen to you?What wouldn't happen to you?"
 Andrew turned to look at her and started laughing as if he thought it was easy to understand what he meant.
"Well,I said that because the older brother is the only one who has to marry a girl he doesn't love.I can marry whoever I want,and I'll make sure I choose carefully.I feel bad for Philip sometimes,Jessica is such a cocky person."
 She smiled at him,he had made her smile,Andrew was funny,she knew he had noticed she was sad but he didn't know why.He doesn't need to know anyway,Tonya thought.
"Where did your brother go?"
"To school.Why were you crying?"
"Well can you take me to that school?"-she asked ignoring what Andrew had asked her.
"Uh..Sure,follow me."-he said,hesitating a bit.He started walking and Tonya followed him.Their world was beautiful,the sky was clean,the air was pure,there were towers made of gold,silver and crystal.The fields were light green and you could see flowers and trees,giant trees!It was all so peaceful that it was hard to belive the people who lived there actually fought demons and vampires and werewolves.
"Well this is it.I'm not sure you can go in though..."-Andrew said ,looking at her and holding her hand.
 The school was huge,it looked like a castle surrounded by all the green fields,it was isolated and closed with a gate.Through it Tonya could see the students passing through.She had to find a way in,she had to know what had happened with Philip.
 Andrew said goodbye,kissing her on her cheek and then he walked away.Tonya froze for a moment,his lips were ice cold.She started climbing the gate when she saw someone on the other side:
"Tonya?What on Earth are you doing here!?"-It was Charles.

Chapter 5 - Hate

 In her dream Tonya was sitting on a bench in the middle of a park.A beautiful park.There were flowers everywhere,flowers of diferent colours:yellow,blue,pink,...She was happy,she was safe,she was relaxing.Relaxing in a beautiful park.Philip was there too,calling her name,touching her face,playing with her hair,a smile on his perfect face.She was holding a key,a golden key.Suddenly she heard an old voice screaming her name.
"Tonya,Tonya!Wake up!"-It was Charles,he was sitting by the bed she was sleeping on.-"Were you dreaming Tonya?"
 Tonya yawned and looked around.
"Yes,yes I was.Where am I anyway?"
"Well,Philip and I brought you to an hotel room after you fell asleep..Or fainted,we still don't know if you fell asleep or fainted..."- he said.
 Charles was old,he already had white hair.His hands were full of wrinkles.
"I fell asleep?When?I don't remember that!And how didn't I wake up on the way to the hotel?"
"I don't know...You and Philip were dancing and then you fell and didn't wake up until now.You must have had a very good dream.."-he said,looking at her in a weird way,like she was some kind of monster.
"Where is Philip,by the way?"
"He's gone, Tonya."
 Tonya felt dizzy and sick, what did he mean Philip was gone?
"Gone? Gone as in not in this room or gone as in,gone for ever?"
"A mix of both.He went back to his world,to school,and I should go back too,I'm his trainer after all!"
 After saying this,he got up,walked towards the door and turned to Tonya:
"Tonya,you should forget you know us,you should forget everything and move on with your life.What you're doing is dangerous,your feelings for Philip are dangerous."
 He opened the door and walked through it.Tonya got out of bed and went running to him.
"My feelings for Philip?What do you mean?"-she asked.
"You know exactly what I mean.Even if he wanted to,he couldn't feel the same way you do,besides being engaged,he knows that if he drags you into his world you'll get hurt."-Charles said.And without saying anything else,he shut the door behind him,leaving Tonya alone in the room.She left the room and followed Charles into another room.He took some sort of wand out of his pocket,opened a portal with it and went through it.Before the portal closed,Tonya went through it aswell falling on a road somewhere.She didn't know where she was,but she was sure it wasn't her world.This place had giant trees and huge towers made of gold! She looked around and a smile appeard on her face when she saw Philip and Jessica next to something like a bus station.She rushed to them and hugged Philip like she hadn't seen him in years.After that he pushed her away from him with a look of suspicion in his eyes and finally asked:
"Who are you?"
 Tonya swallowed his words with disgust and felt tears falling from her eyes.Had he forgotten her?
